Position Summary
Festa Foods is seeking a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor / Trainer to oversee daily production operations while ensuring employees are properly trained in food safety, quality standards, and operational procedures. This role is responsible for maintaining production efficiency, enforcing safety and quality compliance, and developing team members to meet performance goals.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication skills, a solid understanding of food manufacturing processes, and a passion for coaching and developing employees.
Key Responsibilities
Production Supervision
- Supervise daily production activities to ensure schedules and output targets are met
- Monitor workflow, staffing, and equipment to optimize efficiency
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMPs)
- Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate production records and reports
Training & Development
- Develop and deliver training programs for new hires and existing employees
- Train team members on GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and operational procedures
- Conduct cross-training to improve workforce flexibility
- Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching and feedback
- Ensure all training documentation is up to date and compliant
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Operations, or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in food production or manufacturing
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, food safety standards, and OSHA regulations
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent communication and training abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
- Proficiency in basic computer systems and production reporting tools
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in varying temperature environments (hot/cold production areas)
- Ability to follow all PPE requirements
Work Schedule
