The newly created Company, FerroWorks, has locations in Pittsburgh, McKees Rocks, and Kutztown, PA including McConway and Torley and Standard Forged, which have been in continuous operations since 1869, the same year the first US transcontinental railroad was completed. We have been able to meet the needs of our customers with a steady, dependable and economical supply of high-quality railroad industry products. As McConway is the original designers of the first standard automatic coupler, continued innovation and craftsmanship have and has led to a product line that includes every ARR approved coupler as well as custom coupler solutions, which are all proudly cast in the US.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic HR and Talent Acquisition Intern to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in the recruitment process, from sourcing candidates to onboarding new hires. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in building a career in human resources, talent acquisition, or organizational development. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Talent Acquisition team with job postings on various platforms
- Screening resumes and applications to identify potential candidates
- Coordinating and scheduling interviews between candidates and hiring managers
- Utilizing LinkedIn, job boards, and other platforms to source potential candidates
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date candidate information in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Helping with social media content to promote the company’s employer brand
- Participating in organizing recruiting events, job fairs, and campus recruitment activities
- Assisting with new hire onboarding tasks, including preparing welcome packages and coordinating orientation sessions
This will be a paid internship at our plant in Lawrenceville. M-F 40 hours a week
Qualifications:
Education:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
- Recent graduates are also welcome to apply
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with LinkedIn or other sourcing tools is a plus.
