What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ladle Operator position at Ferroworks LLC?

McConway & Torley is currently searching for Ladle Operator. As a Ladle Operator, you will assist the ladle man to meet ladle availability.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Shift: Must be able to work any shift
What you’ll do:
- Assists ladle man to meet ladle availability (turnaround time of ladle) ensures no delay in ladle delivery for next tap
- Assists with tapping of heat (stabilizing the ladle and adding insulate material)
- Assists with proper placement, pouring and retrieval of keel blocks
- Completes application and timing of hot top
- Assists hot metal crane man with hooking and unhooking ladles
- Assists with setting of stopper rods
What you’ll need:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work any shift and overtime hours
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs
Working Conditions:
- Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds
- This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
- Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
