Food Service (Part Time)

Job Summary

The Fergus Falls School District is seeking to fill a part-time food service position at Kennedy Secondary School for 2026-27 school year. This position is scheduled 3 hours/day and up to 173 days/year (full school year). The starting wage range is $21.80 – $22.40/hour.

Position Summary:

Prepares and serves nutritious, appealing meals to students in a warm and welcoming environment. This role ensures high standards of cleanliness, assists in presenting fresh food options attractively, and accurately operates the food service computer system.

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Computer skills
3. Basic math skills
4. Ability to communicate pleasantly with staff, students and public
5. Ability to lift 50 pounds

6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The tasks listed below are not intended to limit other tasks that might reasonably be assigned as necessary.

• Responsible for posting to individual accounts the regular lunch items purchased.
• Monitor students for basic required food items as determined by the state.
• Collect money from students.
• Organize/balance all lunch money when main computer lunch person is not available.
• Close cash register and balance money taken in software program.
• Supervise students in lunch line while operating computer.
• Assist with end of the meal cleanup and restocking.
• Participate in in-service training programs as required.
• Comply with state safety practices including sanitary requirements, etc.
