Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist

This role is within Fello’s Self-Directed Services department where we contract with the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) as a Financial Management and Counseling Services (FMCS) provider. In this Medicaid program, participants are the Employer of Record and hire their own workers and choose their services, while Fello handles all administrative tasks including payroll and bill payment.
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist works to ensure proper and timely processing of vendor payments and mileage reimbursements for Self-Directed Services, maintaining accuracy and compliance with FMCS contract requirements. The A/P Specialist communicates with program stakeholders about internal policies and procedures, manages multiple processing deadlines, and provides critical support to ensure seamless financial operations within the department.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented and proficient with accounts payable processes, including invoice review, vendor management, and mileage reimbursement processing. Strong technical skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and familiarity with Bill.com are essential. This individual demonstrates excellent oral and written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, and can work independently to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines. The ideal candidate also thrives in a dynamic environment, collaborates effectively across diverse teams, and applies critical thinking to analyze data and resolve non-routine issues.
This position requires a High School Diploma or GED (BS in Business or Accounting preferred) and a minimum of 1 year of accounts payable experience.
