The Community Coach facilitates community-based activities and supports people in Fello’s Day Services. All activities and support are individualized and aligned to the Person-Centered Plan. The Community Coach will work with an assigned group of one or more people with a disability to promote independence and personal growth. The Community Coach will provide transportation to and from activities for people served they are assigned to support. The Community Coach must meet the qualifications of a Direct Support Professional and complete all training.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a strong sense of initiative, is comfortable working in dynamic community settings, and is passionate about supporting people with disabilities to live full, self-directed lives. They will help people build real-world skills, access and engage in their community, connect with peers, and explore interests through activities like volunteer work, recreation, job exploration, or skill-building classes. The candidate should be an excellent communicator, highly organized, and tech-savvy enough to document supports and progress in digital systems. Flexibility, empathy, and creative problem-solving are key to success in this role.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Maryland Driver’s License with no major violations, and at least one year of experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
