RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the development of a comprehensive internal audit plan for the Oceanview group which will evaluate the effectiveness of controls in place to manage significant risk exposures, ensure the integrity and reliability of information and financial reporting, safeguard company assets, and comply with laws and regulationsEnsure timely and effective execution of audits across all business areas, including finance, policy administration, operations, IT, and complianceEnsure audits effectively and timely identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvementEnsure the company’s internal audit processes are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standardsWork closely with senior leadership to assess and prioritize emerging risks, regulatory changes, and other factors impacting the company’s risk profileReview the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls, providing insights into areas requiring strengtheningIdentify audit issues and root causes, present findings to management, and identify needed improvements to reduce identified risksPrepare audit deliverables including planning memos, walkthroughs, testing workpapers, and issues testingLead technology compliance audits required by regulators, collaborating with Oceanview’s asset manager’s IT security teamAssist in management in SOX controls testingPrepare and present Internal Audit reports to the Audit CommitteeAssist with responses to regulatory inquiries as they relate to internal audit matters Qualifications: Strong knowledge of Internal Auditing methodologies, standards, tools, and processes Extensive knowledge of insurance operations, industry regulations, and emerging risks facing the industryProven experience in leading and managing audit teams, ideally in a complex, multi-faceted organizationStrong understanding of internal controls, risk management, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance in the insurance industryAbility to develop and implement audit plans, with a focus on risk-based auditing and efficiency.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and work collaboratively with senior leadership, audit committees, and external stakeholdersAnalytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to address complex audit issues and provide actionable recommendationsExperience using technology and automation tools to enhance audit testing and data analyticsAdvanced process design and project management skillsDedicated team player with strong work ethic; quick learner, energetic and engagingAttention to detail to ensure the accuracy of reports and correspondenceAbility to handle multiple projects and adapt to an ever-changing environmentExcellent communication, organizational, and presentation skillsSelf-starter possessing a high degree of personal and professional leadership EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) are highly desirable10 years or more of experience in internal and/or external auditExperience in the insurance industry or financial services industry is a plus. Familiarity with relevant frameworks (e.g. COSO, ISO)Strong track record of delivering on audits and/or process improvement projectsHighly analytical, with a passion for redefining the way internal audits are executed
Salary : $175,000 - $215,000
