Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive lactation assessment, counseling, and evidence‑based breastfeeding support to patients and families
- Educate patients and caregivers on breastfeeding techniques, milk production, infant nutrition, and related topics
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and regulatory compliance standards
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergent or urgent patient situations
- Serve as a professional resource and advocate for breastfeeding and lactation best practices
- Strong clinical lactation knowledge and breastfeeding assessment skills
- Ability to effectively educate and counsel patients and families
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork skills
- Ability to respond calmly and competently in emergency situations
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety procedures
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Excellent professional communication and interpersonal skills
Education
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years as a Registered Nurse
- Two (2) letters of recommendation written within the last two (2) years attesting to clinical competence
- At least one (1) letter must be from a physician or nurse practitioner who has personally observed and evaluated the candidate’s clinical skills

- Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
