Matrix Providers is hiring a Registered NurseLactation Consultant (Maternal Child Dept, Postpartum) to join our team of talented professionals providing healthcare services to Military Service Members and their families at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth VA.
- Employment Status: Fulltime
- Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
- Schedule: Mon-Sun 6:30 am -6:00 pm. 8.5 to 10.5 hour shifts. Shall provide services approximately one (1) weekend per month on a rotational basis. Typical shifts include 0730-1600 or 0800-1630. Final decision made by the clinic.

Requirements:
- Education: Associates Degree of Nursing
- Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 year experience as an RN within the last two years
- Certifications: Board Certification. Possess and maintain certification as a lactation consultant as determined by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE). In addition to Basic Life Support (BLS), possess and maintain certification of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Possess and maintain certification as a lactation consultant.
Job Summary:
- Actively promote breastfeeding and develop and implement standards of care and guidelines for assisting breastfeeding mothers in all areas of the organization as well as existing programs, such as: OB, Childbirth Education, and Breastfeeding classes.
- Be responsible for organizing information and preparing marketing material to promote breastfeeding, collaborating with Department Heads from Pediatrics, Family Practice, and OB/GYN for patient care education.
