FedTec is seeking a Enterprise Architect is responsible for providing senior-level enterprise architecture support, with primary focus on development, maintenance, and publication of the Agency s Target Enterprise Architecture and associated architecture documentation in support of the Social Security Administration s Enterprise Architecture and Innovation Staff (EAIS). This role supports the creation and management of current-state, transition-state, and target-state architecture artifacts across enterprise and business domain levels, while maintaining architecture models, diagrams, reports, repositories, and governance documentation. The Enterprise Architecture SME works closely with government architects, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure architecture products are accurate, well-governed, reusable, and aligned wit architectural direction, modernization priorities, and document management practices.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and publish the Agency Target Enterprise Architecture in alignment with priorities and enterprise standards.
- Create and maintain current-state, transition-state, and target-state enterprise architecture artifacts at both enterprise and business domain levels.
- Develop enterprise architecture models, diagrams, reports, and supporting documentation to communicate architecture direction and future-state design.
- Develop transition roadmaps from current-state to target-state architecture and support planning for implementation and execution.
- Maintain and integrate enterprise architecture data, artifacts, and supporting records in the EAIS repository.
- Establish and maintain disciplined document management practices for architecture artifacts, including version control, quality review, traceability, publishing, archival, and update coordination.
- Organize, maintain, and publish architecture documents in approved repositories and collaboration platforms, including SharePoint and Confluence.
- Create and maintain architecture reports, executive briefings, presentations, and technical documents to support leadership decision-making and program governance.
- Gather and analyze information from stakeholders, systems, and existing documentation to support architecture development tasks.
- Assess and document whether applications comply with the agency s architectural direction and provide recommendations for remediation where appropriate.
- Assess and document the level of effort required to bring non-compliant applications into alignment with approved architecture direction.
- Support development and maintenance of reference architectures, architecture standards, and standardized guidance aligned with modern and cloud-native practices.
- Support software and technology governance activities through analysis, planning, documentation, and implementation support.
- Provide training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing support related to enterprise architecture development, artifact management, and documentation practices.
- Prepare weekly status inputs and contribute to work plans, action tracking, and formal deliverables as required by the work activity.
- Ensure all architecture products are well-structured, controlled, accessible, and maintained in accordance with SSA standards and document management expectations.
- Bachelor s degree and 8 years of relevant experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, business architecture, technical architecture documentation, or related discipline; master s degree may substitute for part of the experience.
- Strong experience with Enterprise Architecture, including development of current-state, transition-state, and target-state architectures.
- Experience developing enterprise architecture models, diagrams, roadmaps, and supporting documentation.
- Experience with Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and TOGAF principles and practices.
- Experience developing EA documents based on industry standards and best practices.
- Experience with reference architectures, application portfolio analysis, and architecture governance.
- Strong experience maintaining architecture repositories and organizing architecture data and records.
- Experience with document management practices including version control, artifact lifecycle management, repository publishing, and configuration discipline.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, SharePoint, and Confluence.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
- Experience preparing executive-level presentations, reports, and briefings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work across technical and business teams.
- Experience conducting research, gathering requirements, and translating findings into architecture artifacts and recommendations.
- Experience supporting governance standards, software governance, and architecture review processes.
- Ability to train and mentor staff on enterprise architecture artifacts, standards, and documentation practices.
