Food Service Supervisor
Pay: $15.00 per hour
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Food Service Supervisor is to oversee the food service operation in a correctional facility. Ensure all meals are prepared in compliance with nutritional standards, safety regulations, and facility policies. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work within a structured environment.
Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities
- Supervise and train kitchen staff and inmate workers, ensuring adherence to proper food handling and sanitation protocols.
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and/or team members in the preparation of quality foods according to planned menu and recipes.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations and correctional guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of food service operations, including meal counts, supply usage, and compliance reports.
- Manage food inventory, procurement of goods weekly.
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
- This role includes physical demands such as lifting 50 lbs., bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated and structured environment, and adhere to correctional facility security protocols.
What You'll Need:
- Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of food service management experience.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP and ServSafe certification.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Basic computer skills.
