Role
Technician for gauging and calibration.
Responsibilities
1. Answer floor calls for issues with hand gauges used in production. Diagnose the problem and perform maintenance on the gauges to correct issues and to ensure accurate measurements.
2. Serve as support with floor calls for issues related to in-line measurement equipment used in production. Diagnose the problems and perform maintenance to correct issues and to ensure accurate measurements. Conduct correlation studies and calibration on in-line gauges as needed.
3. Perform routine calibration on hand gauges.
4. Maintain a proficiency in measurement devices as assigned, such as basic hand gauges, video scope, roundness tester, basic CMM operation, force tester, optical comparator, contour tracer, profilometer, hardness tester, spectrometer, etc.
5. Read blueprints, including geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols, to determine product specifications and evaluate products for conformance to specifications.
6. Review initial parts tags and abnormal parts tags for basic process changes related to gauges.
7. Comply with all IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 systems to ensure a quality product. Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
8. Additional projects assigned by management or supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
1. High School Diploma

2. Mechanical abilities
3. Computer Skills; Excel, typing
4. Basic measurement equipment and hand gauges
5. Experience in manufacturing quality or maintenance
6. Blueprint reading (GD&T)
7. Effective communication with all management and associates
8. Teamwork and interpersonal skills
Environmental/Working Conditions
1. Essential functions of this job require the associate to regularly: sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, carry and lift
