What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Maintenance Technician position at FCC (Adams) LLC?
Role
Support the Stamping department by repairing and maintaining automotive press stamping dies. Perform complex die repairs and modifications, identify concerns, and recommend countermeasures. Perform corrective, scheduled, and preventive maintenance on die equipment. Comply with all company safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
1. Troubleshoot die performance in stamping press to resolve or enhance formability issues.
2. Perform preventative maintenance on stamping dies according to standardized procedures.
3. Perform preventative maintenance on dies between production runs.
4. Perform machining and fabricating on stamping dies for repair or improvement.
5. Monitor completed repairs for continuous improvement.
6. Support tryout of new dies in press line equipment. Conduct trial runs with dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, adjusting, as necessary.
7. Meet repair and preventative maintenance (PM) schedule times to maintain daily stamping production.
8. Troubleshoot and correct quality issues on press line.
9. Maintain and continuously improve quality on all stamping parts including stamping panels.
10. Communicate with all levels of management on die issues and dies repairs as necessary to maintain production schedules.
11. Operate overhead crane to load, unload, lift, position, and insert dies in press daily.
12. Run surface grinders, manual mill, manual lathe, try out press, and basic mathematics.
13. Read and study blueprints or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating or repairing dies.
14. Promote safety continuously; solve problems quickly to improve safety, quality, and productivity of stamping dies.
15. Position requires the ability to work overtime more than 40 hours per week.
16. Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
17. Meet all other requirements as assigned.
18. Promote and ensure conformance with the companies TS 16949 procedures (work standards, regulations, quality manual)
19. Promote and ensure conformance to the companies ISO 14001 procedures (recycling, reducing waste)
20. Promote and ensure a safe, clean, harassment-free, working environment. Comply with department 5C activities.
21. Effectively communicate with management, direct supervisor, associates, and suppliers
Additional projects assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications, Education, Work Experience Requirements
1. High School Diploma/GED.
2. 2-year Technical Degree preferred.
3. 1-3 years of job related experience preferred.
4. Ability to read and interpret die blueprints.
5. WORD/EXCEL Knowledge.
6. Experience with Hand Power Tools.
7. Knowledge of pneumatic cylinders, proximity sensors. etc.
Environmental/Working Conditions
1. Essential functions of this job require the associate to regularly: sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, carry and lift.
2. PPE as required by company policy.
3. Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, off-shift; position may require on-call or OT.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.20 - $28.80 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
