Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Process Technician to join our manufacturing team in Jackson, TN. The ideal candidate will have prior plastic injection molding experience and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, process adjustments, and troubleshooting.
The Process Technician will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing production processes, troubleshooting process and equipment issues, maintaining product quality, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position works closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain injection molding processes to ensure consistent product quality and production efficiency.
- Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust process parameters and equipment as needed.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues and make appropriate adjustments to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
- Monitor machine and process conditions, including temperatures, pressures, cycle times, and other critical parameters.
- Identify process variations and work with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and identify potential maintenance or process concerns.
- Assist with mold, machine, and process changeovers as needed.
- Document production data, process changes, quality issues, and troubleshooting activities accurately.
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, scrap rates, productivity, and overall process efficiency.
- Follow standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Assist in training production employees on proper process operation and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support continuous improvement and other manufacturing initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous plastic injection molding experience is required.
- Previous experience as a Process Technician, Process Engineer, Machine Technician, or similar manufacturing role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of injection molding processes and manufacturing equipment.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and adjusting manufacturing processes.
- Ability to understand and adjust process parameters to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work instructions, and process specifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Schedule:
3rd Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
Candidates must be comfortable working the assigned overnight schedule.
