Maintenance Technician

What you’ll do:
- Respond to customer service maintenance requests according to Farm Bureau policy in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner.
- Monitors, inspects, operates, and maintains the facility building automation system, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, and life safety systems.
- Coordinates project requirements and work of outside contractors.
- Maintains detailed records of repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
- Conducts emergency repairs and maintenance, minimizing interruptions of facility use.
- Assists with other physical plant maintenance duties as necessary, including but not limited to, workstation reconfigures, process recyclable building materials, snow removal, and grounds care.
- Maintains documentation relating to the corporate hazardous material program ensuring both personal and corporate protection.
What it takes to join our team:
- High school diploma or equivalent required plus three years relevant experience required.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical operating systems.
- Utilize various tools, machines, and equipment.
- Requires lifting (75lbs), climbing, grasping, kneeling, and crawling.
- Ability to work from a ladder or lift.
- Ability to access small areas.
- On-call responsibility 24 hours a day.
- Works with various hazardous chemicals and could be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
- Oral and written communication skills as appropriate to this position.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
- Reasonably regular and predictable attendance.
