The Mechanic / Concrete Mixer Driver Operator is responsible for the safe operation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and delivery functions associated with fleet vehicles, concrete mixer trucks, and related equipment. This position ensures compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company standards while providing exceptional customer service, maintaining accurate records, and supporting plant and fleet operations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Operate concrete mixer trucks and other fleet equipment safely and efficiently in compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
Perform pre-trip, post-trip, DVIR inspections, and document vehicle conditions accurately.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diesel and gasoline engines, fuel systems, emissions systems, instrumentation, brakes, steering, suspension, driveline, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on fleet equipment and mixer trucks.
Conduct road tests to verify repairs and ensure safe operating conditions.
Monitor concrete quality during mixing and delivery and ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
Maintain tools, equipment, shop areas, plant facilities, and workspaces in a clean and safe condition.
Complete work orders, inspection reports, maintenance logs, DVIRs, and regulatory documentation accurately and timely.
Report equipment deficiencies, safety concerns, and non-standard operating conditions promptly.
Assist with plant maintenance, housekeeping, and operational support activities as directed.
Move trucks and equipment around shop and yard locations as needed.
Present a professional image when interacting with customers, vendors, inspectors, and coworkers.
Wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures at all times.
Work independently and collaboratively to meet production, delivery, maintenance, and customer service objectives.
