Floor Lead – Full-Time

Pay: $17.00/hr
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, dependable, and experienced Floor Lead to oversee and support daily front-of-house operations at our sushi restaurant. This leadership role is essential to ensuring exceptional guest experiences, smooth service flow, and effective communication between the dining room and kitchen. The ideal candidate has strong supervisory skills, a passion for hospitality, and previous experience in fast-paced restaurant environments such as casual dining, quick service, or full-service concepts. This position offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support the front-of-house team during service
- Ensure guests receive prompt, friendly, and attentive service
- Oversee floor flow, table turns, wait times, and guest seating
- Train new staff on service standards, food handling, and safety protocols
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and sushi bar staff to ensure smooth operations
- Manage POS systems for order processing and cash handling
- Handle guest inquiries or complaints professionally to enhance guest satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with company policies, sanitation regulations, and food safety standards
- Support servers, hosts, and runners by stepping in as needed
- Assist with inventory monitoring to help reduce waste and optimize stock levels
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment
- Participate in staff interviewing, training, & development when applicable
- Lead by example to foster a positive team culture and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven restaurant experience required (sushi or full-service restaurant preferred)
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Experience in fast-paced food service environments (quick service, casual dining, or catering a plus)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
- Experience with POS systems
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Hospitality, culinary, or food service management background is a plus
Certifications
- Alcohol Handler Permit (required)
