Position Details - Indirect Tax Specialist Job ID 620531 Title Indirect Tax Specialist Type Full-time Location Winona, MN 55987 Departments Accounting/Finance Date Published March 18, 2026 End Date 04-01-2026 Job Description Indirect Tax Specialist 212 W 2nd St, Winona, MN 55987 HEADD Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Indirect Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the tax compliance functions relating to sales and use tax, personal property tax, and business license processing, as well as other analytical and administrative projects. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Coordinating and preparing filing of returns (sales and use tax, personal property tax, and business licenses) for domestic operations o Gathering, organizing, and analyzing documents and data related to external audits of sales and use tax o Assisting Fastenal branches, customers, and others with correct sales and use tax exemption requirements and other tax questions o Reviewing financial and operational data o Working to identify and implement procedural improvements to enhance efficiency o Completing special projects and other administrative tasks as required REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess or are working towards an Business/Accounting related degree OR have administrative work experience o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o PeopleSoft knowledge ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers. COMPENSATION: The base pay range for this position is $36,000 - 45,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
