SMT MACHINE OPERATOR
Position Summary: Operator would be responsible for setting up and running the SMT pick-n-place line and has strong familiarity with and capabilities to operate screen printer, pick-n-place equipment, Reflow ovens, AOI machines, etc. Experience with Dek screen printers, Panasonic CM series machines, BTU reflow ovens, and CR Technologies/Yestech AOI a plus. This person would also have some familiarity with and have the capabilities to operate various PCB manufacturing equipment as needed including but not limited to: X-ray, ICT / Test equipment, Wave, Wash, Selective Solder, and Conformal Coating.
Qualification Requirements / Prerequisites:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent legal resident (Green Card)
- High school or GED degree
- Minimum 5 years’ SMT machine use experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge and capability to read and follow process documentation / build assembly prints / drawings
- Strong familiarity and experience with basic facility equipment (Soldering equipment, test equipment, crimping tools, and other hardware assembly tools)
- Solid knowledge and skills to use automated machines.
- Experience in soldering, repair, SMT assembly, soldering PCB, Through-hole soldering. Fine pitch soldering a plus.
- Knowledge and know-how to work at an IPC Class III soldering level. (Certification a plus)
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Ability to setup and operate automated SMT assembly equipment including Screen printer, pick-n-place machine, reflow oven, AOI, X-ray.
- Able to perform other as needed basic tasks, including component prepping, hand insertion, masking, manual conformal coating, testing, soldering (manual, wave, selective), crimping and use of other hand tools, PCB cleaning (manually, automation), touch-up soldering and repair of components/wires, and other wire assembly, final assembly and hardware assembly tasks.
- A plus if able to also perform advanced level tasks including but not limited to PCB repair, fine pitch soldering, programming, inspection with various inspection tools, operate complex automated equipment
- Familiarity with, setup and operate various manufacturing equipment including AOI, X-ray, ICT / Test equipment, Wave, Wash, Selective Solder, and Conformal Coating (training available)
- Able to interpret and perform at IPC-A-610 standards and Class III levels for acceptability and customer specifications.
- Must have strong familiarity with and able to use various hand tools, screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, etc.
- Shall be accountable for quality, quantity and inspection of work performed.
- Train co-workers and assist when problems arise.
- Ensure daily 5S of work station (maintain Clean and Organized Work Areas)
- Shall practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
- Ensure OSHA and Safety Compliance on Production floor.
- Ensure punctuality, reliability and acceptable attendance.
- Follow Company Policies and Quality System Processes
Physical Demands:
- Must regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs., frequently up to 25 lbs., and occasionally more than 50 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull carts and pallet jacks.
- Regular use of hands, standing, walking, and occasional kneeling or crouching.
- 20/20 vision (with or without glasses) and color vision required.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/warehouse environment with moderate noise levels on the production floor
