Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Distribution Center Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse operations within a high-volume, fast-paced distribution environment. This role is responsible for driving operational performance across multiple functional areas while ensuring productivity, safety, quality, and service standards are consistently met.
The Distribution Center Operations Manager will oversee supervisors and frontline teams while partnering closely with cross-functional departments including Human Resources, Safety, Facilities, and Inventory Control. This leader will play a key role in supporting operational strategies, improving processes, and developing high-performing teams capable of meeting the demands of a growing operation.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience within distribution, fulfillment, or warehouse operations, along with the ability to drive results through accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead and oversee daily distribution center operations to ensure productivity, quality, and service goals are achieved
- Provide leadership and direction to supervisors and operational teams
- Drive accountability for operational performance, including productivity, accuracy, safety, and labor utilization
- Monitor operational performance and address performance gaps as needed
- Support operational planning and execution in a fast-paced environment
Team Development & Leadership
- Coach, mentor, and support supervisors and operational teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Partner with leadership on staffing strategies, workforce planning, and training initiatives
- Support employee development and performance management efforts
Process Improvement & Efficiency
- Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and efficiency
- Utilize operational reporting and performance metrics to support decision-making
- Support initiatives focused on productivity improvement and operational effectiveness
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and operational priorities
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety throughout the distribution center
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Partner with Safety teams to support incident prevention and corrective actions
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate operational updates, staffing needs, and performance results with leadership
- Collaborate with departments including HR, Safety, Inventory Control, and Facilities to support operational success
- Provide timely updates regarding operational challenges and improvement opportunities
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience in distribution center, warehouse, logistics, fulfillment, or manufacturing operations
- 3 years of leadership experience managing supervisors and hourly teams
- Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced operational environments
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining operational efficiency
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and labor management systems
- Experience within large-scale distribution or e-commerce fulfillment environments
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
