Reports to: Agronomy Operations Manager
Salary: $19-$28/hour (based on experience)
Responsible for providing top notch service to our customers by ensuring each application is done timely and accurately. It requires the ability to provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers. Problem solving on equipment and maintain equipment daily. This position will perform a variety of functions within the Agronomy Operations Department.
Key Application responsibilities include:
- Meeting orders for application of dry/liquid fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. Timely and accurate application for our customers. Recording all applications correctly and accurately in a digital platform. May operate tender truck as needed. Will maintain equipment daily and annually. Assisting with process improvements, organization, and safety.
Key Maintenance responsibilities include:
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment. Annual maintenance on application equipment. Ordering parts and organizing all parts supply areas. Assist chemical, seed, grain, petroleum, and site maintenance as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Application:
- Operate dry and liquid flotation equipment.
- Operate row crop spraying equipment.
- Operate tractors for applying NH3.
- Maintenance:
- Perform daily and annual maintenance on all application equipment.
- Assist in maintenance on chemical, liquid fertilizer, and seed equipment as needed.
- Customer Relations:
- Responsible for proper applications for our customers in an effective and efficient manner.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy during all applications.
- Always represent yourself and Farmward professionally in action and appearance positively enriching the culture of Farmward Cooperative.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
- Process Improvements:
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in application, maintenance, parts ordering, management, and organization for parts supply area.
- Assists with the implementation of process improvement initiatives.
- Safety and Organization:
- Keeps accurate, detailed, and timely records for all applications performed.
- Takes responsibility for keeping the shop, equipment, and site areas safe, clean, and organized.
- Wears all required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses.
- May shift to help other departments (Chemical/Seed warehouses, blending tower, Grain) with a variety of tasks when needed.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in agriculture REQUIRED.
- Track record of quality work and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and consistent attendance.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organization skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must maintain MVR to meet insurance carriers’ requirements.
Licensing/Certifications: (Ability to obtain after hire)
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator License A and C
- Class A CDL
- Valid Health Card
- Hazardous Material Endorsement
- Tanker Endorsement
