STORE MANAGER

Reports to: Regional Store Director

Classification: Exempt/Salaried

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the store and ensuring all Team Members are executing our Gold Standards of Operational Excellence including customer service, merchandising, staffing, training, sales and labor goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide outstanding customer service through friendly, prompt, and accurate assistance.
• Supervise and coordinate all store staff, identifying opportunities to improve performance and operational efficiency.
• Oversee personnel actions, including hiring, promotions, transfers, terminations, and disciplinary measures, while training and coaching both new and existing Team Members to consistently meet store standards.
• Train and coach both new hires and existing team members to consistently meet the Gold Standard. Provide clear expectations, hands-on guidance, and ongoing feedback to ensure all employees deliver high-quality performance and uphold company values.
• Oversee safety and loss prevention programs.
• Analyze financial impacts and risks on the company within authority, manage inventory, and implement appropriate techniques to minimize shrink.
• Execute core store functions, including email communication, operating registers, bookkeeping, scanning, using equipment (pallet jacks and tow motors), price changes, ad setup, merchandising, direct store receiving, in-store pickup, and managing Outfitter utilization, product financing, and registrations.
• Collaborate with the Regional Store Director to identify, plan and develop methods and procedures to align with our Core Principals of Operational Excellence.
• Review sales and financial reports regularly to identify trends, control costs, and ensure the business is operating as profitably as possible. Analyze revenue streams, compare actual performance against forecasts, and look for areas where expenses can be reduced without compromising quality or growth.
• Work in conjunction with the Regional Store Director to monitor staffing levels and ensure labor budgets stay on target. Review scheduling, adjust workforce allocation based on business needs, and identify opportunities to optimize labor costs while maintaining operational efficiency and customer service standards.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel via car, air travel, and Farm & Home Supply vehicle to various locations and all Farm & Home Supply locations for meetings, events, and training, etc.
• Demonstrate flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Minimum 45 hours/week.
• Consistent attendance for regularly scheduled work shifts is required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS-EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Illinois residents must hold a valid FOID (Firearm Owner Identification) card.
• The ideal candidate must have at least 3-5 years of retail management experience.
• Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate, develop and train store personnel.
• Positive attitude with a passion for collaborating with Team Members committed to growth.
  
  
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds occasionally engaging in assisted lifting over 50 pounds, specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
