Position Purpose:
The Account Executive is responsible for contributing to agency profitability and growth by providing best-in-class customer service in supporting existing client retention and writing new business.
The position is responsible for providing service to our customers, prospects, producers, and other agency staff. The Account Executive assists in the growth and retention of an existing book of business. This position entails both service and sales responsibilities, and may support Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, or both based on the business need and qualifications of the candidate.
Essential Functions:
Client-Member Relationship Management
- Prepares carrier submissions and client proposals for new business and rewrite policies
- Secures insurance for new and existing clients
- Keeps producer informed of all important activities on accounts including potential problems
- Provides timely, friendly and proficient customer service, cross-sell, and up-sell product offerings
- Reviews all quotes for coverage comparisons and ensures most optimal solution is presented
- Provides sales support service to assist producers in finalizing new business policy processing
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and build customer focused relationships with customers
- Effectively manage new business prospects and existing client workload
- Effectively delegates work to CSR staff when appropriate
Administration
- Effectively manages workload to ensure efficiency and proficiency of tasks
- Effectively manages follow up activities and completes proficient documentation on all client contacts
- Proficiently uses agency management systems and carrier systems
- Maintains current producer’s license, certifications, and CE requirements for each renewal period
- Attends scheduled agency and insurance carrier meetings
- Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as requested
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
- Basic knowledge of property & casualty coverages and ability to apply that knowledge in the performance of job duties.
- Must have a friendly positive attitude, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to approach people.
- Self-motivation, strong work ethic, and the ability to build personal relationships with clients will be essential in this position.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-up skills.
- Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Must always present themselves in a professional manner.
- Must have proficiency of PC with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and good data entry skills.
- Must have the ability to analyze and understand coverages, forms, underwriting practices and policies.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred but not required.
- 1 year of Property & Casualty insurance experience preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience required.
- Experience analyzing and understanding coverages, forms, underwriting practices and policies.
- Must have required insurance licensing or willingness to acquire within 3 exam attempts or 45 days, whichever comes first.

- Accountable and Reports to: Agent/Owner
- Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- The duties of this position are normally performed in a general office setting with the ability to work from home. This is a fast-paced work environment.
- This position is classified sedentary/light and requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.
- Visual requirements include ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: sitting for long periods, talking (in person and by telephone), hearing and repetitive motions.
Travel:
< 10% travel mainly local between office locations, training and agency meetings.
Equipment Used:
Computer (PC with Microsoft Office programs), telephone, calculator, telephone, copier, fax, and printer.
Other Position Requirements:
Contacts: This position works with Farm Bureau Financial Services employees, customers, FBFS Agents and office sales associates, vendors and outside agents doing direct business with Farm Bureau Financial Services.
Confidentiality: This position has the responsibility to protect the privacy and confidentiality of customers, employees and bank/insurance/financial information at all times

Pay: $30,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
