Relief-Milieu Treatment Specialist

The Milieu Treatment Specialist plays a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for youth participating in our Day Treatment program. This position works collaboratively with clinical and program staff to implement individualized treatment plans, support skill development, and promote emotional regulation and behavioral growth.

This role is ideal for professionals passionate about youth mental health, trauma-informed care, and team-based treatment models.

• Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field preferred

• Must meet OAR criteria for Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA)

• Ability to pass background and driving record checks (if applicable)

• Physically able, after training, to safely implement approved physical intervention techniques if necessary

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Therapeutic Support

• Establish and maintain appropriate therapeutic relationships with youth in the Day Treatment program

• Support implementation of individualized treatment plans under clinical supervision

• Work individually and in small groups to reinforce skill development and behavioral goals

• Model appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral regulation skills

Documentation & Communication

• Document progress notes as assigned

• Communicate relevant treatment information to clinical staff in a timely and professional manner

• Maintain high ethical standards regarding confidentiality and client rights

Program Support

• Assist with planning and facilitating therapeutic and skill-building activities

• Maintain a structured and supportive milieu environment

• Perform duties of the Milieu Treatment Specialist when providing coverage

• Support a positive team culture and collaborate effectively with colleagues

Compliance & Professional Standards

• Follow all agency policies, procedures, and safety protocols

• Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards

• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager, Clinical Director, or Executive Director
