Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and providing patient care in a retail setting
-Typing and data entry of prescriptions as they come in.
-Insurance/remittance experience
- Prepare and package medications for distribution
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Enter prescription information into the computer system accurately
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients and healthcare providers
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and ensure their needs are met
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience
- Current pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) or license.
- Minimum 1 year experience working as a pharmacy technician
- Ability to type prescriptions
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy terminology and medication names
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members
