Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacy Technician (Framework experience Required)
Position Summary
We're seeking an experienced LTC Pharmacy Technician . This role is hands-on and workflow-driven, requiring strong Framework (pharmacy system) proficiency and familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) integrations, along with comfort working in an automated pharmacy environment (packaging/dispensing robots and related interfaces).
Key Responsibilities
- Process and maintain LTC medication orders in Framework, including new orders, refills, changes, DCs, and cycle fills
- Support PCC (PointClickCare) integration workflows (eMAR order intake, verification queues, status updates, troubleshooting basic interface issues)
- Manage and prioritize daily production: cycle fills, new admits, transfers, stat/urgent orders
- Operate and assist with pharmacy automation equipment (e.g., counting/dispensing robots, strip/labeling systems, blister/bingo card workflows, barcode scanning), ensuring accuracy and uptime
- Prepare and stage medications for packaging and delivery; ensure proper labeling, documentation, and compliance
- Communicate professionally with nursing staff and facility contacts regarding order clarifications, missing info, delivery status, and refill requests
- Assist with controlled substance procedures per policy (receiving, perpetual inventory support, logs, discrepancy escalation)
- Support inventory functions: receiving, put-away, lot/expiration tracking, cycle count support, returns/credits processing
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Board of Pharmacy requirements, and internal SOPs
- Participate in continuous process improvement related to automation, PCC workflows, and LTC operational efficiency
Required Qualifications (Mandatory)
- Active Pharmacy Technician license in good standing (state-specific)
- Must be proficient in Framework (order entry, cycle fills, queues, reports, troubleshooting)
- Must be familiar with PCC integration workflows and common LTC eMAR/order communication processes
- Experience working with pharmacy automation robots/equipment and barcode-driven workflows
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Comfortable using multiple systems (pharmacy platform, PCC, fax/eRx portals, ticketing/communication tools)
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year experience in LTC / closed-door pharmacy (or equivalent high-volume setting)
- Experience with cycle-fill models (7/14/30 day), unit dose/bingo cards, strip packaging
- Knowledge of facility billing nuances and prior authorization/coverage coordination support (as tech scope allows)
- Strong troubleshooting mindset for interfaces, queues, and automation workflow interruptions
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Standing, repetitive motion, and lifting typical pharmacy totes/boxes (up to ~30–40 lbs as needed)
- Frequent computer and scanner use; work around automated dispensing/packaging equipment
- Must follow PPE/safety procedures and facility/pharmacy compliance protocols
