Residential Advocate

We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and trauma-informed individuals to join our safehouse team as Residential Advocates. 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. Full-time, Part-time and as need positions available.

Residential Advocates provide direct support to survivors of domestic violence and their children residing in our safehouse. This role is essential in creating a safe, supportive, and empowering environment while assisting residents with crisis intervention, safety planning, daily living needs, and connection to community resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct advocacy, emotional support, and crisis intervention to residents
• Answer hotline and crisis calls, assisting with safety planning and emergency response
• Complete client intakes, documentation, and shift reports accurately and timely
• Support residents in accessing resources
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed living environment
• Utilize de-escalation and conflict resolution skills
• Monitor the safety and security of the safehouse
• Assist with daily operations
• Transport residents as needed
• Collaborate with staff and community partners

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience in relevant field preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to remain calm in crisis
• Understanding of trauma-informed care preferred
• Valid driver’s license preferred

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds
• Ability to work flexible schedules
• Ability to manage emotionally intense situations

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
