Position Overview
The Family Justice Center of Georgetown & Horry Counties is seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Assistant Safehouse Manager to support the daily operations of our domestic violence safehouse program.
The Assistant Safehouse Manager works closely with the Safehouse Manager to provide leadership and supervision to Residential Advocates, ensuring a safe, trauma-informed, and supportive environment for survivors of domestic violence and their children. This position plays a key role in crisis response, staff support, and program coordination, and serves as the primary lead in the absence of the Safehouse Manager.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Safehouse Manager in supervising and supporting Residential Advocates and safehouse staff
- Help develop staff schedules and ensure all shifts are covered
- Provide crisis intervention and support for residents and hotline clients
- Support safehouse safety, operations, and compliance requirements
- Help ensure trauma-informed, survivor-centered services are provided consistently
- Assist with documentation, reports, and program records
- Coordinate with counseling, case management, DSS, and community partners
- Assist in overseeing inventory, supplies, and shelter-related purchasing needs
- Help facilitate house meetings and support conflict resolution when needed
- Assume lead responsibility for safehouse operations in the absence of the Safehouse Manager
- Participate in trainings, community meetings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
- Three or more years of experience in domestic violence services, residential programs, crisis intervention, or related human services required
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and crisis management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and survivor-centered advocacy preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Full-time position with flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities as needed
Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
