General Job Description
Under supervision, the HR Coordinator I maintains the integrity of employee files and HR records by filing, organizing, and retrieving documents accurately. They assist with scheduling interviews, coordinating job postings, and communicating with applicants during the recruiting process. They support new hire onboarding by preparing paperwork, organizing orientation materials, and ensuring I-9 and other required documents are completed. They assist HR staff with benefits enrollment periods by distributing materials and tracking completion, and handle general HR administrative tasks as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic employee files in accordance with company policy and legal requirements
- File HR documents accurately and retrieve files as requested by HR staff or management
- Assist with posting open positions on job boards and internal channels
- Schedule interviews and coordinate candidate communications under HR direction
- Prepare new hire paperwork packets and ensure all required documents are completed at onboarding
- Assist with new hire orientation logistics including room setup, materials, and scheduling
- Support benefits open enrollment by distributing materials and tracking employee acknowledgments
- Answer basic employee inquiries and direct more complex questions to appropriate HR staff
- Maintain confidentiality of all HR records and employee information
- Perform general HR administrative tasks including data entry, copying, scanning, and mailings
