We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Facility Technician to support the daily operation and maintenance of our fish production facility. This individual will be responsible for performing general building maintenance, light plumbing repairs, basic electrical and mechanical repairs, and other handyman-related tasks to ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and operational.
In addition to facility maintenance responsibilities, this position will assist with production and assembly activities as business needs require. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and willing to take on a variety of tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general building and facility maintenance.
- Complete routine repairs including light plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, and basic electrical work.
- Troubleshoot and repair doors, locks, lighting, fixtures, shelving, and other building components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance throughout the facility.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform basic inspections of facility equipment and identify repair needs.
- Coordinate with outside contractors when necessary.
- Assist with equipment setup, movement, and installation.
- Support production and assembly operations during peak workloads or as directed.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the facility.
- Follow all company safety policies and food safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2 years of facility maintenance, building maintenance, handyman, or maintenance technician experience preferred.
- Experience with light plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Comfortable assisting with production and assembly work as needed.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to perform a variety of maintenance and operational duties.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing, food processing, agricultural, or industrial environment.
- Basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
