Fairview Range is hiring a Lead Patient Care Supervisor (House Supervisor) for our Nursing Administration team in Hibbing, MN.
As the Lead Patient Care Supervisor (House Supervisor) Directs and supervises frontline staff in the delivery of patient care for all shifts. Coordinates day-to-day operations amongst the House Patient Care Supervisor workgroup. Functions in collaboration with the manager to assure services are provided in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner that enhance patient safety, quality, and patient/employee/physician satisfaction.
Schedule: This position will work 60-72 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 12-hours on the day/night shift. Weekends: Every Third

As a Lead Patient Care Supervisor - House Supervisor you will be responsible for:
- Maintain effective staffing patterns to meet patient care needs within budget parameters.
- Allocates human resources appropriately in shift-to-shift staffing decisions, emergency situations, and in response to changing conditions within Range Regional Health Services (RRHS).
- Facilitate departmental scheduling; collaborate with Staffing and Scheduling Office / manager regarding filling vacant shifts.
- Identify, prepare, and implement departmental educational opportunities (i.e., annual required learning), as directed.
- Champion and coordinate new employee orientation.
- Facilitates unit and service specific in-service.
- Assists with development and completion of annual staff competencies, job care requirements, and medical record deficiencies.
- Completes chart audits as directed and follows up with employees with deficiency findings.
- Provides ongoing positive and constructive feedback and coaching for employees.
- Conducts initial investigation of employee injuries and reports to manager
- Direct constructive criticism appropriately.
- Seek out assistance for issues resolution if unable to resolve independently.
- Promotes cooperative working relationships with peers, superiors, and subordinates.
- Maintains objectivity in performance of supervisory responsibilities.
- Encourages/facilitates problem solving between individuals and groups.
- Recognizes and communicates exemplary accomplishments to the manager.
- Ensures unit activities are conducted in compliance with specific labor regulations/contracts.
- Role model/mentor for other staff members and students.
- Directs and supervises the day-to-day bed capacity activities of the Hospital by assessing and directing the flow of patients from all access avenues through admission, discharge and transfer at RRHS.
- Coordinates the multidisciplinary team meeting and daily huddles to ensure communication in and across departments within the organization.
- Identifies with multidisciplinary team daily discharges; coordinates timely discharges to meet organizational and unit targets.
- Determines staffing needs for assigned units based on patient acuity and/or statistical data.
- Collaborates and communicates with appropriate medical staff on an ongoing basis.
- Implements appropriate changes in practice under direction of the Manager.
- Acts as a departmental liaison to other departments.
- Uses creative solutions to resolve problems and keep operations running smoothly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 3 years Registered Nursing experience
- MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Incident Command System (ICS) Series 100, 200 and 700 within 1 Year
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Assoc)
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
- BCS
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years management/leadership experience
- Certification in nursing specialty
