Fairview Health Services is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Quality Consultant to join our Ambulatory Care Service Line team. This is a full-time, salaried position with a mobile work model, requiring the ability to occasionally travel to clinics throughout the Twin Cities area for on-site collaboration and improvement initiatives.

This role partners closely with clinical and operational leaders across the organization to implement data-driven improvements that elevate patient outcomes, enhance workflows, and reduce costs.
You’ll lead cross-functional initiatives using proven performance improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and IHI, guiding teams through meaningful change aligned with Fairview’s strategic priorities. Key Responsibilities
Lead investigations into complex quality and safety events, identifying root causes and system-wide improvement opportunities
Facilitate end-to-end performance improvement projects with cross-functional teams
Develop and implement evidence-based practices and standardized clinical tools to improve patient care
Support EMR optimization and clinic operations improvements
Monitor and analyze performance metrics and regulatory compliance (CMS, Joint Commission, HIPAA, etc.)
Apply reliable design principles to enhance care consistency and reduce preventable harm
Collaborate across departments to ensure sustainability of improvements and accurate outcome measurement
Coach and mentor junior consultants and contribute to training initiatives
Integrate health equity considerations into all improvement efforts, using a holistic and inclusive approach
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 4 years of experience in quality, safety, or performance improvement, ideally within a healthcare setting
Proven success leading improvement work with operational leaders
Experience guiding multi-disciplinary teams through change management
Six Sigma Green Belt certification
One Lean Certification
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
Six Sigma Black Belt certification
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
