What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Analyst I position at Fairview Health Services?
The Business Analyst 1 position is an entry-level analyst in the area assigned. This position, under direct supervision, typically assists in supporting Mental Health and Addicition Clinical Leaders and Operations with business systems and applications. Works closely with departments on revising existing system to meet user needs.
Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate work
- Contributes to the process or enablement of collecting expected payment
- Investigates, compiles, analyzes, accurately interprets, and validates data
- Acts as a point of contact/subject matter expert for application process and maintains a strong understanding of system functionality, software applications, and business workflow and objectives to appropriately interpret data and support leadership decision making.
- Develops, designs, and maintains visuals and/or reports
- Summarize findings and opportunities identified in the data to support leadership decision making
- Defines and co-develops business requirements that allows for optimization of the system to enhance operational workflows.
- Research, documents, and facilitates resolution to issues reported by end-users
- Outlines requirements for new analytic tools including necessary fields, appropriate calculations, data definitions, and integration points.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key partners to research and develop potential solutions to systematic issues
- Applies critical thinking knowledge to core functions to take action and ensure escalation of system problems and operational needs
- Tests, identifies new conditions to test, and analyzes results of testing of new workflows and system functionalities
- Supports the creation of educational materials for staff and process improvement
- Effectively copes with change; comfortably adjusts to alterations in work activities; able to decide and act with limited information; effectively handles risk and uncertainty in ambiguous situations Ability to prioritize tasks as urgent or critical and act accordingly.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in applicable healthcare field. Two (2) years of experience may substitute for associate degree.
- 2 years of applicable business healthcare experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 4 years of applicable business healthcare experience

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
