Hotel Overview

Located in the heart of downtown Fairmont New Orleans will be an impressive new addition to Fairmont’s luxury portfolio, offering 250 luxury guest rooms, four food & drink venues, a rooftop pool with expansive views of the city, more than 19,000 square feet of function space, and a 10,000 square-foot spa.

This property is destined to become an illustrious destination in the Central Business District, nearby the city’s renowned and historic French Quarter.

Job Description

• Warmly greet and acknowledge guests upon arrival and throughout their Pool Lounge experience.
• Serve as an ambassador of Fairmont New Orleans and the Pool Lounge.
• Manage reservations, seating assignments, waitlists, cabana assignments, and guest preferences as applicable.
• Escort guests to tables, loungers, cabanas, or designated seating areas.
• Communicate relevant information regarding menus, Pool Lounge offerings, hours, amenities, and hotel policies.
• Maintain knowledge of Pool Lounge food and beverage offerings.
• Maintain awareness of cabana packages, special events, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
• Monitor guest flow and coordinate closely with Servers, Bartenders, Runners, and Management.
• Manage guest expectations regarding wait times, seating availability, and cabana availability.
• Coordinate VIP arrivals, special occasions, celebrations, and guest preferences.
• Answer telephone calls and assist with reservations, guest inquiries, and operational communication.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, concerns, and requests.
• Assist with guest recovery efforts and involve leadership when appropriate.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the host stand, entrance, seating areas, and guest-facing spaces.
• Monitor poolside conditions and communicate safety, maintenance, or guest concerns to appropriate hotel leadership.
• Maintain familiarity with Fairmont New Orleans amenities, dining outlets, events, and local attractions.
• Support the Pool Lounge during peak periods and high-volume operations.
• Assist with opening, closing, stocking, cleaning, and other operational duties.
• Maintain a polished and professional appearance consistent with Fairmont New Orleans standards.
• Follow all hotel policies, service standards, safety procedures, and pool-area regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous Host / Hostess, restaurant, hotel, resort, pool, or guest service experience preferred.
• Luxury hotel or upscale hospitality experience is an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to remain professional and composed in a high-volume environment.
• Professional appearance and polished demeanor required.
• Strong guest service mindset.
• Basic computer and reservation system experience preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in warm and humid weather.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
