Houseperson

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Queensbury is seeking a dependable and hardworking Houseperson to join our team. This position requires flexible availability, including the ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The Houseperson plays an important role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel while supporting the Housekeeping Department and responding to guest needs. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and is willing to assist wherever needed to provide our guests with a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of hotel public areas, including the lobby, hallways, stairwells, elevators, public restrooms, pool area, fitness center, laundry areas, entrances, and other common spaces.

Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the exterior hotel grounds, including entrances, walkways, parking areas, and other designated areas.

Promptly respond to requests from guests, Housekeeping, Front Desk, Maintenance, and other departments.

Deliver guest-requested items such as towels, linens, pillows, blankets, and other amenities.

Clean, organize, and stock housekeeping storage areas with linens, amenities, and necessary supplies.

Remove trash, debris, and soiled linens from guest room hallways and Housekeeping carts and transport them to designated service areas.

Assist Room Attendants with linen, supplies, trash removal, and other duties as needed.

Assist with laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, organizing, and stocking hotel linens.

Monitor public areas throughout the shift and address cleanliness concerns promptly.

Clean glass, doors, furniture, fixtures, floors, and other surfaces in public areas as needed.

Assist with cleaning and maintaining the pool and fitness areas in accordance with hotel procedures.

Identify and report maintenance concerns or potential safety hazards in guest rooms, public areas, and hotel grounds.

Contact the appropriate department or manager regarding urgent maintenance or safety concerns.

Place caution/wet-floor signs and other safety signage when necessary.

Properly use, clean, maintain, and store housekeeping equipment and cleaning supplies.

Follow proper procedures for the use and storage of cleaning chemicals.

Follow all company safety, security, and emergency procedures.

Immediately report accidents, injuries, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or unusual situations to management.

Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.

Protect guest privacy and maintain the confidentiality of guest and hotel information.

Work cooperatively with Housekeeping, Front Desk, Maintenance, and Management to respond to hotel and guest needs.

Assist with additional Housekeeping and hotel operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to prioritize tasks and respond promptly to guest and departmental requests.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions for cleaning products and equipment.

Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or hotel experience is preferred but not required.

Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing and walking for extended periods and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items required to perform assigned duties.

All associates are expected to take ownership of guest requests, communicate concerns promptly, work as a team, and help maintain the cleanliness and condition expected at Fairfield Inn & Suites.
