We are seeking a dependable, skilled, and detail-oriented Preventive Maintenance Technician to help maintain the quality, safety, and appearance of our Fairfield by Marriott hotel. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, addressing guest room and public area repairs, and ensuring hotel facilities remain in excellent condition. Your technical skills and commitment to quality will directly contribute to guest satisfaction and the overall success of hotel operations.
Duties
- Perform routine preventive maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, lighting, appliances, and other hotel equipment.
- Complete guest room maintenance tasks such as repairing doors, locks, furniture, fixtures, televisions, and other in-room amenities.
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Assist with room renovations, painting, drywall repair, and general carpentry projects as needed.
- Maintain hotel grounds, parking areas, and exterior facilities to ensure a clean and welcoming appearance.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and Marriott brand standards.
- Keep accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and preventive maintenance records.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and front desk teams to minimize guest disruptions during maintenance activities.
- Monitor equipment performance and report major repair needs or replacement recommendations to management.
- Assist with emergency maintenance situations and on-call responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance, facilities, hotel maintenance, apartment maintenance, or related experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Hotel or hospitality maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and occasional emergency call-ins as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely use ladders and perform work at elevated heights when necessary.
