Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough clinical intake assessments utilizing diagnostic tools such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems to determine mental health and behavioral health diagnoses.
- Gather detailed patient histories, including medical terminology, psychiatric history, social factors, and current symptoms through interviews and medical documentation review.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluations that incorporate evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and other modalities.
- Coordinate care by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, special education providers, and crisis management specialists.
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management services when necessary to ensure patient safety and stabilization.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation of all patient interactions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes within electronic medical records systems.
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively for remote intake sessions while adhering to all privacy regulations.
- Engage in ongoing research and data collection efforts to improve clinical practices and patient outcomes.
- Support patients with diverse needs such as PTSD care, addiction counseling, grief counseling, working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities, geriatrics, pediatrics, or gender issues counseling.
- Assist in case management activities including patient follow-up and coordination of outpatient services.
Experience
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure at the master’s level (e.g., LCSW, LMHC) required; additional certifications in addiction counseling or specialized therapies are a plus.
- Proven experience conducting intake assessments in outpatient or clinic settings with diverse populations including children and individuals with disabilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in psychotherapy modalities such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy or applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation documentation.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivering clinical services remotely while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention and crisis management techniques to handle urgent situations effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health diagnoses and treatments; experience working within hospital or inpatient settings is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while providing compassionate patient-centered care that emphasizes evidence-based practices like trauma-informed care and grief counseling.
