Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all purchasing activities by preparing, approving, and tracking purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in the Sage MRP system, and resolving any issues related to specifications, pricing, or delivery with suppliers.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through regular communication and negotiation of pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with the sourcing team to identify and evaluate new and alternative suppliers for specific commodities and custom designs.
- Partner with the production staff to maintain inventory accuracy in the Sage MRP system for automatic re-order points.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to uphold and improve purchasing standards in line with ISO, AS9100, and 13485 regulations.
- Contribute to overall operational goals by partnering with the Finance team on reporting and inventory management, and by participating in planning and decision-making to achieve targets in product cost, quality, inventory, and delivery.
- Facilitate product validation, first article inspection, incoming inspection, and source inspection processes.
- Manage and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Experience as a Buyer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to source, select and manage a diverse supply base.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Hands-on experience with an MRP system, inventory management and cost/price analysis.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing standards – ISO, 13485, FDA, AS9100.
