What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Extension, Inc?
Responsibilities
- Oversee press operators, team leads, and support staff across multiple press zones (auto, transfer, manual, and large-format presses)
- Lead daily safety meetings, enforce PPE requirements, and proactively identify and correct unsafe behaviors
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and changeover requirements are consistently met
- Partner with union stewards and team leads to coach, develop, and support employees while adhering to union guidelines
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve tooling issues, equipment downtime, and setup challenges
- Monitor key performance indicators (scrap, changeover times, uptime, safety, delivery) and drive continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain clear communication across shifts to ensure operational consistency
Qualifications
- 3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (press or metal processing preferred)
- Strong technical aptitude and comfort working around machinery and detailed production specifications
- Experience in a union environment preferred; ability to lead through influence rather than hands-on production work
- Proven servant leadership style—direct, transparent, and team-oriented
- Strong safety background with experience supporting or implementing safety initiatives
- Familiarity with manufacturing ERP systems (SAP, JDE, AS400, Kronos) is a plus
Pay: $80,000 bonuses
