Overview
A privately held manufacturing company operating within the industrial and engineered materials space is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team! This role is focused on new customer acquisition across North America, and is a high-travel, hunter-style sales position centered on prospecting, cold outreach, and technical/consultative selling within industrial manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive 100% new business development across North America
- Prospect, cold call, and convert new accounts in industrial sectors
- Conduct on-site customer visits, evaluations, and technical discovery meetings
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools (HubSpot)
- Develop and execute a territory growth strategy focused on new customer acquisition
- Translate customer applications into tailored technical material solutions
- Maintain ongoing customer engagement to support long-term account expansion
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to support solutions delivery
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in B2B industrial sales or manufacturing-related industries
- Proven “hunter” mentality with success in new business development
- Strong cold calling, prospecting, and outbound sales skills
- Ability to understand mechanical applications and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong communication skills and comfort initiating high-volume outreach
- Willingness to travel up to 75% across North America (some international travel possible)
Salary and Schedule
- Base salary: $75,000 – $80,000
- Uncapped commission w/ OTE in first-year: ~$110,000
- Top performer potential: $200K total compensation
- Annual performance-based bonus
- Office-based when not traveling, with significant field time required
