What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator / Quoting position at Expressive Lighting Inc.?
A Brooklyn-based wholesale lighting distributor is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Estimator to join our team of lighting and controls distribution professionals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Effectively read and evaluate architectural and electrical drawings
- Conduct a detailed takeoff of lighting fixtures and controls as shown on the drawings.
- Read and check lighting specifications to insure they are in sync with layout and application on drawings.
- Interact with client when, or if, inconsistencies in specifications and drawings are discovered.
- Estimate lighting changes for bulletins/addendum's on projects in progress.
- Interact with manufacturers and factory sales reps to produce competitive and timely pricing.
- Evaluate accuracy of vendors’ quotes
- Prepare bid packages based on customer’s bill of material
- Collaborate with Management/Sales on proposals
- Increase overall project performance
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:
- General Education Degree .
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook)
- On-Screen Take Off experience a plus.
- Saw8 Cahill Estimating experience a plus.
- Ability to multitask while staying organized.
- Ability to meet deadlines and successfully work in a demanding environment
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Positive customer service skills.
- Experience in lighting a plus!
