CNC Tooling Programmer & Setup Specialist

Location: North Prairie, WI
Compensation: $22.00–$30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Schedule: First Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

At 7:00 AM, you open a 3D CAD file and translate it into a precise machining plan. You design and build fixturing that locks parts in place with confidence. By mid-morning, your CNC setup is dialed in—tooling chosen, offsets set, parameters optimized—and you’re producing high-quality tooling. Throughout the day, you validate each step with precision measuring tools, adjust as needed, and keep the workflow moving to meet deadlines. You stay alert to safety while operating CNC equipment, shop tools, and forklifts. When a tool is complete, you hand it off to the Tooling Specialist for final benching and rigging, and you jump in to support Tooling Specialist and Shop Assistant tasks as needed. Before you leave, your station is spotless and organized.

• Turning 3D CAD models into accurate CNC toolpath strategies
• Designing, planning, and fabricating fixturing for repeatable accuracy
• Setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision tooling
• Selecting tooling, dialing in offsets, and fine-tuning machining parameters
• Verifying parts with precision measurement instruments
• Hitting production targets without sacrificing quality
• Safely running CNC machines, shop equipment, and forklifts
• Coordinating handoff of completed tooling to the Tooling Specialist for benching/rigging
• Pitching in with Tooling Specialist and Shop Assistant duties when necessary
• Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work area while following all company policies

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Post-secondary training in CNC Machining, Tool & Die, Tool Making, or similar (preferred)
• Relevant CNC machining experience (preferred)

• Read and interpret 3D models and machining data
• Confident with CNC setup and operation
• Working knowledge of CAD and toolpath/CAM software
• Comfortable using computers and manufacturing software systems
• Meticulous attention to detail and precision
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Willing to take on additional shop-related tasks
• Able to provide basic personal tools for machining work

• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Stand, bend, and work in a shop environment for extended periods
