CNC Lathe Setup & Production Machinist
Picture starting your shift on the east side of Indianapolis, loading up a CNC lathe, and watching the first sample part come off the machine exactly to print. You verify the setup, confirm the offsets, and settle into the rhythm of precision. This Evaluation Hire (temp-to-hire) role puts you at the center of production excellence while earning $20–$25/hr BOE.
What your day looks like- Translate engineering blueprints and specifications into high-quality CNC lathe parts.
- Interpret GD&T to ensure every feature is produced within the required tolerances.
- Load programs and tooling, verify machine settings, run sample pieces, and validate results.
- Hold tight tolerances: maintain ±0.0005 on critical dimensions and ±0.001 on others.
- Track quality through precise measurement, document results on quality logs, and keep operations safe and compliant.
- Troubleshoot issues, detect malfunctions, and keep productivity high by sharpening or replacing worn tools and following established procedures.
Location: East side of Indianapolis
Compensation: $20–$25 per hour, BOE

What you bring- Proven experience operating a CNC lathe, including setup and production.
- Comfort using precision measuring instruments and hand metrology tools.
- Ability to read and apply GD&T callouts from blueprints.
- Consistent performance holding the required tolerances listed above.
- Background with grinding operations is a plus.
