This is the perfect position for a CNC Setup Machinist looking to advance further in the trade! If you are excited about manufacturing and motivated to learn, this is the job for you.
CNC Setup Machinist (Path to Fusion 360 Programmer)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $25–$30 per hour to start with raises as you advance. PLUS eligible for production bonuses once you’re proving out and running jobs independently.
Work Week: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with optional 4 10's Monday-Thursday once you’re running jobs independently.
About the Role
We are a high-mix job shop looking for a CNC Setup Machinist who isn't just a "button pusher." You'll start by setting up and running proven programs on our Haas machines. Once you've shown consistent, careful work on setups and first articles, you'll have the opportunity to learn to prove out new jobs and eventually program them in Fusion 360. This is a hands-on role for someone who is careful, takes pride in precise work, and wants a real career path, not just a job.
What You'll Be Doing
- Setup & Operation: Set up workholding, tools, and work offsets from written setup sheets on our 3-axis Haas mills and Haas lathes. Our parts range from industrial components and automation assemblies to custom motorsports products.
- Quality Control: Inspect your own parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges to make sure they meet tolerances and specifications. Measure first articles and fill out inspection reports, with responsibility for approving production as you advance.
- Fabrication: Set up and operate CNC press brakes as needed, including first-article inspection. We will train you.
- Prove-Out: As you advance, run first articles on new programs using our shop procedures and adjust wear offsets to hold tolerance.
- Growing Into Programming: As you demonstrate consistent, quality work, you can advance into editing and creating toolpaths in Fusion 360.
What We're Looking For
- Attention to Detail: You measure twice, keep clean setups, and double-check your work.
- Honesty & Judgment: You stop the machine and ask when something doesn't look or sound right. Here, that's always the right call.
- Mechanical Aptitude: You enjoy mechanical work and being challenged by it.
- Measuring & Print Reading: You can read calipers, micrometers, and basic drawings accurately, and you're comfortable with shop math.
- Haas Experience: Experience with the Haas CNC control on mills or lathes.
- Fusion 360 / CAD: Any experience is a big plus but not required.
- Reliability: You show up on time, every day.

- CNC Machining (Lathe and Mill): Required

- Fusion 360: Not required (a plus)
