- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across various science disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences
- Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance student engagement and understanding of complex scientific concepts
- Conduct laboratory experiments, dissections, and research projects to provide hands-on scientific experiences
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project evaluations; provide constructive feedback
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Mentor students individually or in small groups to support diverse learning needs and academic goals
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives to improve science education quality
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to scientific research, instructional strategies, and special education practices
Experience
- Proven classroom management skills with experience teaching middle school science or related subjects at private or public schools
- Strong background in scientific research methods, laboratory experience, and familiarity with dissection techniques
- Knowledge of advanced science topics such as trigonometry, calculus, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, differential equations, discrete math, cell biology, and learning technology tools
- Experience designing curriculum that incorporates inquiry-based learning and instructional design principles
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of varied backgrounds and learning styles; experience with special education or Montessori methods is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for engaging students, mentoring peers, and collaborating with staff on educational initiatives
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and educational administration practices within private school settings
- Prior involvement in research laboratories or scientific research projects enhances your ability to bring real-world applications into the classroom
