Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver dynamic lesson plans that incorporate best practices in curriculum development, including literacy education, math, science, and social studies.
• Utilize learning technology tools to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques.
• Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative assessments, including standardized testing preparations.
• Provide individualized support through tutoring or early intervention strategies for students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism or special education requirements.
• Foster a safe, inclusive environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation among students.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, school events, and educational administration tasks to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
• Mentor new teachers or student interns to support professional development within the school community.
• Incorporate library services and resources into lessons to promote literacy and research skills.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, Montessori methods (if applicable), or other educational frameworks like early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced certifications preferred.
• Valid teaching certification/license for elementary education; additional endorsements in special education or Montessori are advantageous.
• Demonstrated classroom experience working with children at the elementary level, especially in grades 4–6.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Proven ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate writing skills, math strategies, and literacy education techniques.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or implementing early intervention strategies is a plus.
• Knowledge of classroom management practices and behavior management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
• Familiarity with learning technology platforms and tools used in modern classrooms.
