Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Science Teacher to inspire and educate students in grades 6 through 9. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across various science disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences.
- Facilitate hands-on laboratory experiments such as dissections, microbiology studies, and molecular biology techniques to enhance experiential learning.
- Incorporate learning technology tools to create interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and class participation; provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to foster a positive learning environment conducive to inquiry and collaboration.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and integration of special education strategies when needed.
- Offer academic advising and tutoring sessions to help students excel in science subjects and prepare for future coursework or standardized assessments.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of scientific disciplines including biology (cell biology, genetics, biochemistry), chemistry (organic chemistry), mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus), and physics (discrete math, differential equations).
- Experience with laboratory procedures such as dissection techniques, microbiology cultures, molecular biology experiments, and research laboratory practices.
- Proficiency in using learning technology platforms for instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Excellent classroom management skills combined with effective communication skills to motivate students and collaborate with staff.
- Ability to design curriculum that integrates research methods, instructional design principles, and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with private school environments, Montessori or other specialized educational approaches is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in higher education teaching or tutoring in scientific research settings is desirable.
