Job Description
What you will be doing:
- Have overall ownership of production, processes, and people in the respective Manufacturing Unit.
- Be fully responsible for delivering upon SQDC targets and eliminating losses through BDPS.
- Grow the capability of the team.
- Set goals, make decisions, and drive accountability toward department objectives.
- Ensure compliance with quality systems, policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as all local, state, federal, and safety regulations.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance as an essential job function.
- Be accountable for the achievement of key strategic, operational, and functional goals.
- Develop and mentor the manufacturing unit to drive results by focusing on production, associate capability development, and ownership.
- Coordinate and drive all activities within the manufacturing unit and set priorities.
- Develop and manage the manufacturing unit’s budget and headcount levels.
- Coordinate the establishment and communication of challenging SQDC goals.
- Translate manufacturing unit targets into lines/areas/workplaces and ensure each associate understands what is expected from them with documented individual, specific, and measurable targets.
- Initiate and drive change to ensure short and long-term SQDC goals for the lines/areas under responsibility are met.
- Resolve issues in the line and for the manufacturing unit in a timely manner, while displaying servant leadership.
- Manage the team in line with values.
- Run the TMS cycle for the lines/areas and set the 24-hour direction for the manufacturing unit.
- Conduct yearly performance reviews of the team and ensure every individual has an active development plan in place.
- Conduct regular 1:1s with each team member to review performance and help them grow.
- Lead AM activities and be responsible for creating AM work processes (e.g., CIL, CL, etc.).
- Facilitate excellence implementation within the manufacturing unit.
- Collaborate with Logistics to establish production schedules and monitor delivery performance versus schedule.
- Ensure regular, timely, and accurate assessments of hourly associates are delivered through coaching activities.
- Work with associates to resolve issues and concerns, involving HR when needed.
- Build personal mastery in operation, people management, and Excellence.
- Spend more than 50% of the time on the production floor overseeing activities within the manufacturing unit.
Experience you will need:
- BA/BS Degree in Science, Industrial Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment.
- 3 years of people-leading experience.
- Effective oral/written communication skills - Proficient.
