Job Description
What you will be doing:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the site engineering function (Automation and Process Engineering).
- Embed company excellence as the site’s operating system to drive world-class performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
- Lead engineering strategy, develop high-performing technical teams, and execute site strategy and Cost-to-Win (CtW) initiatives.
- Own the multi-year engineering strategy aligned with the site master plan.
- Drive improvements in equipment reliability, OEE, capital efficiency, cost structure, and engineering capability.
- Partner across Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, and company Excellence.
- Develop and execute engineering strategy aligned with the site master plan and company Excellence roadmap.
- Cascade KPIs supporting SQDC objectives.
- Integrate asset strategy, automation, digital transformation, reliability, and maintenance excellence.
- Champion Lean, Continuous Improvement, and Zero Loss initiatives.
- Lead root cause analysis, Kaizen events, A3/7-Step problem solving, standard work, and visual management.
- Drive engineering contributions to Cost-to-Win (CtW) initiatives.
- Partner with Asset Care leadership to improve equipment reliability, uptime, preventive and predictive maintenance, spare parts management, and lifecycle planning.
- Improve OEE, capacity utilization, and operating efficiency.
- Implement Factory Blueprint standards and engineering best practices.
- Lead engineering participation in Focused Improvement teams, Kaizen events, Tier Management, loss analysis, and performance tracking.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering organization.
- Drive capability development through skills matrices, succession planning, technical talent development, and coaching in company Excellence, Lean, and data-driven decision making.
- Develop future engineering leaders.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and EHS.
- Provide engineering leadership for capital projects, capacity expansion, new product introductions (NPI), validation, regulatory, and compliance initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with quality systems, engineering standards, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish engineering governance, standard work, and continuous improvement processes.
- Demonstrate servant leadership and a Gemba mindset.
- Foster accountability, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.
- Promote proactive problem identification, waste elimination, daily management, and effective change leadership.
- Build a culture focused on engagement, operational excellence, and sustainable improvements.
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering.
- 7-10 years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience managing engineering teams or managers.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Reliability Engineering, Asset Care, Manufacturing Operations, and Engineering Management.
- Six Sigma certification preferred.
