Production Supervisor – Bulk Plant

Employment Type: Full-Time
Industry: Food & Beverage Manufacturing
Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead operations at a high-volume bulk processing facility. This is a technical production role—not simply a floor-management position. The supervisor will be responsible for blending NFC juice and concentrate to exact customer specifications, maintaining product quality, troubleshooting processing equipment, and coordinating tanker loading and shipping schedules.
The ideal candidate understands batching and blending operations, can troubleshoot equipment independently, and can make quick decisions when production, quality, staffing, or shipping priorities change.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead production employees while maintaining a culture of Quality, Safety, and Accountability.
- Manage batching, blending, and reblending operations to meet customer specifications.
- Monitor product throughout production and make adjustments to maintain quality and specifications.
- Identify and reject out-of-spec product and work with Quality to resolve issues.
- Monitor and troubleshoot pumps, valves, tanks, and processing equipment.
- Coordinate tanker loading and shipping schedules to keep product moving safely and on time.
- Monitor tanker dwell time and help minimize product quality and yield risks.
- Schedule and assign personnel based on production requirements.
- Monitor workflow, equipment, production output, labor, and product yield.
- Train, coach, and develop employees, including new-hire orientation.
- Enforce SOPs, GMPs, safety procedures, and food-safety requirements.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Shipping, Maintenance, and Plant Management.
- Resolve production issues quickly and provide hands-on support when needed.
- Complete shift reports, production paperwork, pass-downs, and personnel documentation.
- Report injuries, absences, staffing changes, production issues, and other shift-related concerns.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, minimize product loss, and increase production performance.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in food, beverage, citrus, dairy, or process manufacturing.
- Direct experience with batching, blending, or reblending product to customer specifications.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting pumps, valves, tanks, and production equipment.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot equipment without extensive training.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, SOPs, quality control, and food-safety requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–3 years of supervisory or lead experience.
- Experience coordinating tanker loading or bulk product shipments.
- Experience working with juice, dairy, beverage, or similar liquid-processing operations.
Who We're Looking For
The title on your resume is less important than what you actually know how to do. We are open to experienced Production Operators, Batching Operators, Blend/Reblend Operators, Leads, and Supervisors who have the technical knowledge to step into a leadership role.
The successful candidate will already understand how to make the product, how to hit the specification, how to troubleshoot the equipment, and how to keep production and shipments moving. This is a hands-on environment where there is little room for a long learning curve.
